Community Outreach & Marketing Internship

Our job is to demonstrate and promote how The Indoor Dog Park solves a key day-to-day need in the community - providing a safe, clean, comfortable, and fun place to play with your dog. We approach business in a nimble and agile way - changing the game for dogs and their parents, making safety our top priority, and letting our state-of-the-art facilities, amenities, and technology speak for itself.

 

As a Community Outreach & Marketing Intern, you are responsible for key activities that make The Indoor Dog Park a safe and fun staple in the community. You will be working directly and closely with Ownership, Management, Members of the Park, and members of our local communities. From communicating with prospective members to establishing partnerships with other local businesses and charities, your role is critical in our mission to establish and grow a tight-knit community of like minded people.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with special projects centered around establishing alliances with local businesses, charities, and influencers 

  • Assist with planning, coordination, and execution of special events, as needed

  • Perform general office duties, such as answering incoming correspondence, maintaining records, performing light bookkeeping, mail handling, bill pay, preparation of invoices and reports, ordering supplies, and running errands

  • Support PR and marketing efforts, including assisting with social media presence

 

Job Qualifications

  • Current student studying Marketing, Public Relations, Business, or other related field

  • Demonstrates comfort with dogs

  • Must have the ability to work independently, producing detailed work with accuracy

  • Excellent communication skills with a positive and professional demeanor

  • Exceptional written communication skills

  • Proficient use and access to a mobile device for team messaging (Slack App)

  • Highly skilled in general use of computers - especially email, web browsing/research, social media platforms, and use of online tools like Canva

  • Reliably commute to or plan to relocate near Cranberry Township before start date

  • At least 18 years or older

 

Reporting, Availability, and Benefits

  • Reports to Owner

  • Hourly position - $10.00 per hour

  • An appropriate work-life (and school!) balance is important to us. This position allows for flexible hours and schedules. A set schedule will be determined with the appropriate candidate prior to execution of the employment agreement. In addition to the agreed-upon schedule, extended hours and weekend options may be available from time to time, but are not required.

  • Time off is permitted with advance notice according to the Employee Handbook

  • All employees receive complimentary Memberships for their dogs that pass a Temperament Session
